Marine -Open Forest

This paining is part of my coastal aquatic inspired series.

Annual camping trips to Moreton Island over Easter have become an enduring source of inspiration for this work. The island’s shifting mudflats alive with soldier crabs, the submerged wrecks explored by snorkel, and the clear waters of the Blue Lagoon form part of a landscape rich in memory and wonder. Surrounding it all is a complex matrix of coastal vegetation that blankets this remarkable place. My work responds to the textures, movement and layered ecologies of this island environment.
